SOIL STABILIZATION

Frequently Asked Questions

What is soil stabilization?

Soil stabilization is the process of improving the strength and performance of soil to reduce movement caused by moisture changes. ESSL, LLC uses its exclusive EcSS 3000® technology to treat expansive clay soils that commonly cause foundation problems, pavement movement, and structural damage.

Expansive clay soils absorb water when wet and shrink when dry. This constant swelling and shrinking creates movement beneath structures, which can lead to cracks in walls, sticking doors, uneven floors, and foundation damage.

EcSS 3000® is ESSL, LLC’s exclusive soil stabilization product designed to reduce the swelling characteristics of expansive clay soils. The product works on a molecular level to change how clay reacts to water.

EcSS 3000® creates an electrochemical reaction that changes the charged ions in clay particles. This reduces the soil’s ability to absorb and retain excessive moisture, helping minimize soil movement and foundation upheaval.
